The customer required a laboratory mixer that could accurately reproduce production conditions while handling a highly viscous formulation.
The material consists of:

Methyl cellulose powder

During the mixing process, the viscosity increases significantly as the cellulose absorbs water. Conventional mixers often struggle with uneven dispersion, powder agglomeration, trapped air, and difficult discharge.
To overcome these issues, the customer selected a vacuum sigma mixer equipped with a screw extrusion discharge system.
Unlike high-speed mixers, a sigma blade kneader applies strong kneading and folding actions to move high-viscosity materials throughout the mixing chamber.
