Is this mixer compatible with standard US laboratory power supplies?
Yes. Unlike large industrial mixers that require 3-phase power, this 10L lab scale sigma mixer is specifically custom-wired for 220V, 60Hz, Single Phase. It is designed for straightforward integration into North American testing and research labs without requiring expensive electrical facility upgrades.
Can the heating system handle high-melting-point materials like asphalt and heavy bitumens?
Absolutely. While many standard lab kneaders rely on external water or oil heating jackets, this unit features a robust, built-in 3kW electric heating system capable of reaching up to 350°C (662°F). This provides rapid melting and sustained, stable high-temperature mixing, which is critical for asphalt, hot-melt adhesives, and polymer modifications.
Materials like asphalt are extremely sticky. How difficult is it to clean the mixing chamber?
We engineered this machine with maintenance in mind. All material contact parts—including the mixing chamber, upper cover, and Sigma blades—are made of SS304 stainless steel with a high-grade mirror-polished finish. This greatly reduces material adhesion. Additionally, the manual tilting discharge design allows operators to easily access the chamber for scraping, and the PTFE (Teflon) seals are highly resistant to harsh cleaning solvents.
Why is an explosion-proof (Ex-proof) design necessary for lab mixing?
Heating volatile materials (like asphalt, solvent-based adhesives, or rubber compounds) to high temperatures often releases flammable fumes. To ensure operator and laboratory safety, this machine features a Siemens explosion-proof main motor, an Ex-proof vacuum pump, and a fully enclosed Ex-proof electrical control cabinet. This eliminates the risk of electrical sparks igniting trapped fumes during operation.
Does the vacuum system come fully equipped, or do I need to buy a separate pump?
The machine comes as a complete, ready-to-run system. It includes an integrated explosion-proof vacuum pump, a vacuum buffer tank, and flexible metal hoses. It easily achieves a vacuum degree of -0.09 Mpa, efficiently removing trapped air bubbles from highly viscous materials during the kneading process.
How is the machine packaged and shipped to the United States?
The mixer weighs approximately 300kg and measures roughly 1350 x 700 x 1100 mm. It is securely packed in a heavy-duty, export-standard wooden crate featuring 10cm pallet feet for easy forklift handling and hinged lids for safe unboxing. We can arrange delivery via LCL (Less than Container Load) sea freight or expedited air freight directly to your US facility or the nearest major port.
