Karvil Machinery has completed the manufacturing and shipment preparation of a customized 500L stainless steel ribbon mixer for a customer in the United States. Designed for mixing plastic pellets with mineral oil, this machine combines SS316 stainless steel product-contact components, a WEG UL-certified motor, and variable-speed control to meet the customer's specific production requirements.
A Customized Ribbon Mixer for Plastic Pellets and Mineral Oil
Mixing plastic pellets with liquid additives requires a suitable mixing system to distribute the liquid throughout the solid material. The mixer configuration, operating speed, and mixing time all play important roles in achieving the desired results.
For this US project, Karvil supplied a 500L horizontal ribbon mixer with a recommended working volume of 300L. Its horizontal ribbon agitator promotes material circulation inside the mixing trough, helping distribute mineral oil across the plastic pellets.
The variable-frequency drive allows operators to adjust the mixing speed according to the material characteristics and process requirements.

1. SS316 Stainless Steel Construction
All specified product-contact components are made of SS316 stainless steel. The internal contact surfaces feature a mirror-polished finish, while the exterior has a brushed finish. This construction provides corrosion resistance for suitable industrial applications and a clean, professional appearance.
2. WEG UL-Certified Motor
The mixer is equipped with a 7.5 kW WEG UL-certified motor, configured for a 208V, 60Hz, three-phase power supply. A 7.5 kW variable-frequency drive enables adjustable mixing speeds from 0 to 46 rpm.
3. Pneumatic-Assisted Lid and Dust Collection
The upper lid features pneumatic-assisted opening for more convenient access to the mixing chamber. A dust collector and safety mesh are also included to support the customer's operating requirements.
4. Safety Interlock System
The machine incorporates a safety interlock designed to stop the mixer when the lid is open and the safety mesh is not correctly positioned. This arrangement helps reduce operating risks during material handling and inspection.
5. Convenient Bottom Discharge
A DN150 manual butterfly valve is installed at the bottom of the mixing trough. The discharge outlet is approximately 550 mm above floor level, allowing the customer to plan the downstream material collection arrangement.
