At Karvil Machinery, every mixer is built to match the customer's material characteristics and production requirements. We are pleased to announce that a 5L Stainless Steel Double Planetary Mixer has been successfully completed and factory-tested for our customer in New Zealand.
This customized mixer is designed for pharmaceutical applications, where a silicone base material is blended with active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) powder. The project required high mixing precision, hygienic construction, and stable process control to ensure product consistency and safety.
Pharmaceutical materials demand much higher standards than general chemical products. To meet these requirements, the mixer was manufactured with a full stainless steel structure, while all material-contact parts are made of SS316 stainless steel to provide excellent corrosion resistance and hygienic performance.
The machine is also equipped with a jacketed mixing vessel, allowing precise heating or cooling during processing. This helps maintain stable temperatures throughout the mixing cycle, protecting temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical ingredients and ensuring consistent product quality.
To improve operational efficiency and repeatability, the customer selected a PLC control system.
The PLC interface enables operators to easily adjust and monitor key process parameters, including mixing speed, operating time, and temperature. Standardized process control helps reduce operator error while ensuring consistent batch-to-batch production.

The customer's material consists of a silicone base combined with active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) powder.
This type of formulation requires uniform dispersion of fine powders into a high-viscosity base material. The double planetary mixing system continuously rotates while revolving around the mixing vessel, creating complete material circulation and eliminating dead zones.
The result is excellent powder dispersion, high mixing uniformity, and stable processing performance, making the equipment suitable for pharmaceutical, medical, and laboratory applications.
