2L Vacuum Sigma Mixer Extruder with PLC Control
Product Description
Key Features
Siemens PLC Control
Siemens S7-1200 PLC and 7-inch Siemens color touchscreen provide centralized control of the complete mixing process.
Process data can also be exported through USB in CSV format.
Screw Extrusion Discharge
For viscous materials that are difficult to remove by gravity, the machine uses a dedicated screw discharge system.
The screw can run forward or reverse and is independently controlled by VFD.
Vacuum Mixing
The mixer can operate at a vacuum level of up to -0.09 MPa.
A jacketed SS316L buffer tank is included to help manage the vacuum system during processing.
Sigma Blade Kneading
Two Sigma blades provide strong compression, folding and shearing forces for high-viscosity and difficult-to-mix materials.
Precise Temperature Control
The mixing chamber uses an electric heating system with thermal oil circulation. Two independent temperature sensors monitor the chamber and jacket.
Compact 2L Design
Although the total volume is only 2L, the mixer incorporates many of the functions normally found on larger industrial sigma mixers.
Siemens PLC Control for Laboratory-Scale Processing
The control cabinet uses a Siemens S7-1200 PLC with a 7-inch Siemens KTP4 color touchscreen.
The operator can control and monitor the entire mixing process from one interface.
Main Functions:
- Motor start / stop / Sigma blade forward / reverse / Blade speed control / Mixing time control / Screw discharge start / stop / Screw forward / reverse / Screw speed control / Heating control / Temperature display / Vacuum control / Vacuum display / Motor current display / Jog operation / Emergency stop / Electrical protection
Process Data
The PLC system allows process data to be exported through USB in CSV format, making it easier to record and review laboratory test results.
Unexpected situThe control system includes process and safety alarms.
For example: Cover-open safety interlock / High-temperature cover-opening alarm / Vacuum-loss alarm during heating / Motor over-current protectionations often occur during outdoor activities, such as getting lost, encountering accidents, or needing emergency assistance.
Working Principle
Mixing → Heating → Vacuum Processing → Kneading → Screw Discharge
The machine uses two Z-shaped sigma blades rotating inside the mixing chamber.
During operation, the blades continuously lift, fold, compress and shear the material. This creates strong kneading forces that are particularly effective for high-viscosity and semi-solid materials.
At the same time, the electric heating jacket transfers heat to the mixing chamber to bring the material to the required processing temperature.
When vacuum processing is required, the mixing chamber is evacuated to remove trapped air, moisture and volatile components.
After the mixing process is completed, the screw discharge mechanism pushes the material toward the outlet for controlled discharge.
