Sigma Kneader Mixer for High-Viscosity Materials Processing

This 3000L sigma kneader mixer was manufactured by Karvil Machinery for a UK customer processing high molecular weight PIB and additives .

The material is highly viscous and requires high torque, controlled heating and reliable discharge. To handle these demanding conditions, the machine is equipped with a dual-drive mixing system , heavy-duty sigma blades , thermal oil heating and a high-power screw extrusion discharge system .

The complete machine is designed for continuous control of mixing speed , heating temperature and screw discharge speed according to the customer's process requirements.

Key Features

Explosion-Proof Configuration

The machine features explosion-proof motors, heating elements and electrical components, with an ATEX-rated control cabinet for safe operation.

Heavy-Duty Dual Drive

Two 75 kW explosion-proof motors independently drive the heavy-duty sigma blades for reliable mixing of highly viscous PIB materials.

Screw Extrusion Discharge

A 45 kW explosion-proof screw drive provides controlled extrusion discharge, with variable speed and reversible rotation for efficient material removal.

High-Temperature Heating

The mixing chamber, blades and screw barrel use thermal oil circulation with 72 kW electric heating for stable and uniform temperature control.

Hygienic SS304L Construction

All product-contact parts are made from polished SS304L stainless steel, with Ra < 0.8 μm for a smooth and durable mixing surface.

PLC & Recipe Management

The Siemens PLC and touchscreen provide speed, temperature, heating, discharge and weighing control, with recipe management and data recording.

01. Loading

Raw materials are loaded into the mixing chamber according to the required formulation.

02. Kneading

The two sigma blades rotate and continuously fold, compress and shear the material.

03. Heating / Cooling

Thermal oil can circulate through the jacket and, where required, through the blades to control material temperature.

04. Discharge

After mixing, the processed material is discharged through the selected discharge system, such as tilting or screw extrusion.

Optional Features

Different materials require different mixer configurations. Karvil Machinery can customize:

Discharging: Tilting discharging/Screw extruding discharging/Bottom plate
