The machine features explosion-proof motors, heating elements and electrical components, with an ATEX-rated control cabinet for safe operation.
Two 75 kW explosion-proof motors independently drive the heavy-duty sigma blades for reliable mixing of highly viscous PIB materials.
A 45 kW explosion-proof screw drive provides controlled extrusion discharge, with variable speed and reversible rotation for efficient material removal.
The mixing chamber, blades and screw barrel use thermal oil circulation with 72 kW electric heating for stable and uniform temperature control.
All product-contact parts are made from polished SS304L stainless steel, with Ra < 0.8 μm for a smooth and durable mixing surface.
The Siemens PLC and touchscreen provide speed, temperature, heating, discharge and weighing control, with recipe management and data recording.

Raw materials are loaded into the mixing chamber according to the required formulation.
The two sigma blades rotate and continuously fold, compress and shear the material.
Thermal oil can circulate through the jacket and, where required, through the blades to control material temperature.
After mixing, the processed material is discharged through the selected discharge system, such as tilting or screw extrusion.

What materials can this 3000L sigma kneader process?
This machine is designed for highly viscous materials, including high molecular weight PIB and additives. Sigma kneaders can also be configured for polymers, rubber compounds, adhesives, sealants and other demanding materials.
Why does this machine use two 75kW motors?
The dual 75kW drive system provides high torque for processing highly viscous materials. Independent variable-frequency control also allows the mixing speed to be adjusted according to the process.
How is the material discharged?
This machine uses a 45kW screw extrusion discharge system. The screw speed can be adjusted from 0–61 rpm, providing controlled mechanical discharge for highly viscous materials.
Can the screw discharge system handle very high-viscosity materials?
Yes. Screw extrusion discharge is particularly suitable when highly viscous materials are difficult to remove by gravity alone. The final screw configuration should be selected according to material viscosity, density and discharge characteristics.
How do I select the right sigma mixer?
The main factors include material type, viscosity, batch size, working temperature, mixing time, discharge method and safety requirements. Karvil's engineers can recommend the appropriate configuration based on your process data.
